The Photographer Convention, held every year in London/Hammersmith is a heaven for every photographer. A massive event of education with seven days of action packed programmes. Just to give you a quick impression:Over 350 hours of masterclasses to choose from
Over 12 hours of Business School
Over 40 hours of FREE Seminars and Demos.

As I said, a heaven! Unfortunately the majority of the classes take place during the working week so that I had not the chance to attend the most interesting seminars. But at the weekend I visited the Trade show. The majority were vendors for wedding albums, prints or business cards

We bought our wedding album from a little manufacturer called Memory Collections. They had very nice albums - not so funky and stylish like Jorgensen or Queensberry, but a decent quality, classical style, kind of old fashion. I would use them for my clients.

On Sunday I attended a masterclass of Ken Sklute: It's all in the Light!
Although Ken is an awarded wedding Photographer of 2008, I have to say it was the worse seminar I ever attended. The subject was supposed to cover lighting techniques with window light, single flash, multiple flashes, light modifiers and tungsten light. But instead to showing us how to use the flashes or how to take a picture in what lighting condition, all he did was to prsent for 2 hours photographs and to tell us that you can capture nice images if you know how to use the light. But how he is using the light, what rules apply, how to stand or to read the light - nothing. After 2 hours he ran out of pictures and so he started to tell us for 2 hours more stories about his life as a photographer.... I paid £80 and it was not worth it at all. Never again!
But one thing is clear: The SWPP 2010 Convention is an outstanding event and in 11 months it's time to get ready for the 2011 convention - which starts on January 11, 2011.
