The London International Tango Festival

3 days ago I had an interview with Takis Kalogroulis, the organiser of the London International Tango Festival and Managing Director of the Academia Nacional del Tango (UK). I was invited to present my portfolio, as I was offered to take the photographs during this event. It was for me the very first time to sit down with somebody to speak about my work and what I'm offering. We had a nice chat and he told me that very often the photographers he hired just dissapeard after the festival without giving any photos. So he is now a bit concerned. I dont understand this, as such an event is actually a good way to promote yourself. Why should you run away afterwards? Anyway, we agreed to stay in contact. Nothing is sure yet, as I'm not the only one who applied for this job. We will see.

Dear Herr Schroeder, photographers probably disappear because they produce black photos... the light condition is hardly inexistent in a milonga and people dance around very fast, so make sure that you are prepared to shoot in complete darkness. Men are usually wearing black while women might be very colourful and glittery at times. so many light factors tha can easily fuck up your pictures. If you get the job I would love to act as a your photo assistant. V
