Tuesday we have been taking photographs at Canary Wharf. After maybe 15 minutes we were approached by a security guard, who said the CCTV cameras have been following us and ordered me to stop taking pictures. He told me the whole CW area is private property and directed me to where the boundary is, so I could shoot outside the Canary Wharf property. Also he informed me how to get a permit if I did want to shoot in the Canary Wharf area. But under no circumstances do they issue permits for example stock photographers as they have their own on-line resources. I think that's the reasons for the restriction. It's purely commercial. Nevertheless we had time enough for some quick shots. Unfortunately it was a bit windy and so I could not use the umbrella, because the umbrella catches the wind like you can't believe it and even the slightest wind can send the whole thing (umbrella, stand and my flash) crashing over.
